Industrial vision software — Solagna (VI), Italy

We measure parts without touching them.

We develop the software for measurement and quality-control systems built on industrial cameras. We choose camera, optics and lighting to suit the part, put the system on the line and make it talk to the rest of the factory.

Five things we know how to do

This is not a catalogue: it is the list of what we have already delivered and can do again. Where the demo is ready, you can use it straight away.

2D pattern matching

Find the part, in any pose

We match the image against a geometric model and find the part even when it is rotated or off-axis, wherever it sits in the field of view. It is the first step of inspection, counting and presence checks.

DXF comparison

The part against the drawing

We overlay the detected profile on the DXF drawing and measure the deviation point by point. The result is a map of the out-of-tolerance zones, not just a pass/fail verdict.

Dimensional measurement

Dimensions without touching the part

Non-contact dimensional measurement and statistical process control. We also write the software for laboratory instruments: hardness testers, micro-hardness testers and profile projectors.

In-line and edge vision

Several cameras, one line

Image acquisition and display from several cameras on the same line, up to six over PoE. Where needed, processing runs on the camera instead of on a server.

In preparation

Robotics and automation

Cells that work on their own

Automated laboratory cells with cobots, dispensers and ultrasound. Quadruped robots for taking samples in a production environment. The cell is simulated and controlled from the browser. Humanoid robotics is just starting: we are working on it, it is not a service we offer.

Where we have already been

We leave client names out: these are plants covered by confidentiality. The problem we solved, though, we can talk about.

Jewellery

Optical inspection of precious-metal components

Surface, engravings and drilled holes checked by machine, on parts nobody can afford to scratch. The system separates conforming parts from those that need rework.

Hollow glass

Inspecting glass bottle necks on the line

Two quality-control machines installed in the production line, with the technical coordination and the software handled by us.

Metrology laboratory

Measurement and statistical process control

A web system that collects the dimensions from the instrument, keeps the control charts and stores the measurement history. In service, on a subscription.

Robotics: what is already in service and what is not

We keep the two apart. The line between what we have delivered and what we are still working on is useful information for anyone assessing us, not a detail to blur.

Already delivered

Automated cells and quadruped robots

An automated laboratory cell with a cobot, dispensers and ultrasound. A quadruped robot that takes samples in a production environment. These are plants in service, not prototypes.

Just starting

Humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence

We are starting a humanoid robotics project and the embodied intelligence work that goes with it: imitation learning, whole-body control, manipulation.

It is not a service we offer: it is where we are investing. If you want to follow it, write to us.

When the part changes, the system has to cope

We write the software ourselves, so we can change it. We do not resell a closed machine: we choose the components to suit the problem — cameras, telecentric or fixed-focal-length lenses, lighting — and when production changes, we are the ones who go back in.
